Word cloud thingy…

Here’s one I made using this website on an essay I wrote about Harold Holt: http://www.wordle.net/

I also made one using poems I’d wrote, but this post keeps mucking up.

Money and Paperwork get in the way of world change

29 07 2011

World problems that could easily be fixed

  • Problem:

-          environment/energy

Connected problems:

-          War

-          Ozone layer

-          Cost

-          Global warming

-          Food/material shortage

  • Solution:

-          Solar powering

-          Electric cars/vehicles

-          Rainwater collection

-          Use of ethanol and methane gas (heating and power)

-          Recycling of more materials

-          Environmentally friendly building materials (recycled materials)

-          Energy saving appliances (solar powered)

-          Elimination of land fill (recycle food scraps, and proper disposal/reuse of materials)

How these solutions will affect problems

29/07/11

Currently, the world spends millions of dollars annually on oil and petrol and the prices continually climb higher for a number of reasons. One being war, making it harder to access. Another, the declining availability of the resource. Also, the cost of shipment is no laughing matter.

Though, if we were to switch to a renewable energy source, those problems would cease.

Now as you, and probably the government would argue that if we discontinued our use of fossil fuels, the government would lose money from lack of sales, but in truth, with the eliminated shipment costs and fuel prises, we wouldn’t be spending as much as we are now.

Also you might argue, ‘What would we run our cars and houses on?’, the answer: solar power and gas.

There are many people around the world who have made environmentally friendly houses (and not just what it’s made of) and have even become self sufficient, eliminating the need to pay electricity, rent, water, and heating bills (the only thing they really have to pay for is food and gas, but you can grow your own food, and not everyone uses gas in their homes, so these are optional).

I will add more to this article later.

Bored.

29 10 2010

Have you ever had a time where you were so bored that you wish your brain would liquify so you could stop thinking?

I feel a lot like that today. I was trying to study in the library earlier, but it was really annoying so I did half of it, then read something random to keep me occupied. Usually I can space out and be entertained by starring at a wall, but this time it was almost maddening.

Have you felt this way?
